Safeguarding is everybody's responsibility!
If you have any concerns about a child within our school you should share this information with a member of staff immediately. The named people below are the people you should talk to. If these members of staff are unavailable then please speak to the most senior member of staff available. At Cubitt Town Infant's School, the safety and well-being of every child is our top priority. We have a duty of care for every child that attends our school and we expect all staff, governors and visitors to share this commitment to safeguarding our pupils. We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. There may be times that we have to consult with other agencies. We will ensure that all concerns are discussed with parents/carers first, before any referrals are made, unless we believe that this will put a child's safety or well-being at risk.
We promote a culture of 'Safeguarding Is Everybody's Responsibility' in our school. Everyone who comes in to contact with children and their families and carers has a role to play in keeping them safe and healthy. All staff are trained in Child Protection and children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns.
To promote a safe environment for pupils:
1. All staff are subject to Disclosure and Barring checks
2. All visitors must enter via the main entrance, sign in using our electronic system and wear a badge at all times
3. All new staff, visitors or volunteers are given an induction leaflet outlining safeguarding systems in our school
4. Visitors are asked to turn off their mobile phones on site
