In March 2022 our school will amalgamate with Cubitt Town Junior School to become Cubitt Town Primary School. Our curriculum has therefore been designed to be the starting point of the children's learning journey throughout their primary school years, and the knowledge that the children acquire in our units is revisited, recapped and expanded in the curriculum over Years 3 to 6. Click here to see the intent statement and computing curriculum for these years.
At Cubitt Town we aim to provide a relevant, challenging and enjoyable computing curriculum that helps equip our children for the 21st Century. Computing is not delivered as a single, discrete subject, but is embedded across the entire curriculum. Skills are taught as part of literacy, numeracy and topic lessons, allowing children to use computing as tool to enhance their learning across the curriculum.
Children learn to understand and apply the basic principles of computing - including programming, digital presentation, databases, digital media and research - using a wide range of technology. The children will also learn how to use computing technology effectively, responsibly and safely. Oracy underpins much of our computing learning, as regular opportunities for talk helps further children's understanding of key ideas.
