Quality in Extended Services Advanced Recognition Award

Cubitt Town Infant and Junior Schools worked together to gain a collaborative award where our extended services practice and delivery was recognised as Advanced.

The Advanced Status represents the leading edge of work in Extended Learning and indicates a whole school commitment to innovative practice.

Our aspects of leading edge practice were;

  • The extensive and inclusive support for the entire school community developed through an investment in a community house and a dedicated Parent Support Coordinator a decade ago.

  • A long-term programme of support and lifelong learning programmes for parents and the wider community, which has demonstrated success in many forms e.g.

  • Parents in the community house have shown greater confidence in being able to support their  own child’s learning.

  • The community house acts as a hub bringing together new families to the area alongside established families, which enables real integration and a shared understanding of different heritages and cultures.

  • The ethos of ‘you can’! is one that the schools demonstrate for all its families.

  • The schools support their community in feeling confident and able to access the local facilities and go beyond their doorsteps.

This Girl Can

Find out how women and girls are getting active in London!

We are Filming!

We were honoured to be asked by London Sport to make a short film for the ‘This Girl Can’ Project. ‘This Girl Can’ is a national campaign developed by Sport England and a wide range of partnership organisations. It is a celebration of active women up and down the country who are doing their thing, no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their faces get!

The film and photographs will be used on London Sport’s website, social media and associated ‘This Girl Can’ communications, as well as presented at London Sport events.

Our mums generously gave up a day of their half term to be part of this exciting project that celebrates women of all shapes and sizes getting active in London.

As you can see we had a great morning filming. Pupils Dani, Dean, Sulaimen & Uzair, watched their mums  Natalie & Razna being interviewed, along with Razna’s husband.

A huge thank you to Ben, Iona, James and staff at the Docklands Sailing Centre for hosting the filming and working an extra day after running a half term club for children.

Thanks also go to London Sport and Howl Films for giving us this wonderful opportunity.

Jamie Oliver Cookery Workshop 2
